The skilled gnomes are full of energy. # Full Description Gnomes are an uncommon race that are constantly busy when within a community. They love to take delight in the life around them, enjoying every moment of creation. Their energy and enthusiasm for everything around them shines through them. Gnomes are slightly over 3 feet tall, weighing 40 to 45 pounds. Their skin being tan or brown with huge smiles under their bigger noses. Their eyes always shining in excitement. Being alive is a core of their nature squeezing enjoyment out of their 3-5 centuries worth of life. Speaking like they can’t get all their thoughts out fast enough they offer opinions on many subjects, and still managing to listen to those around them. Gnomes love jokes, especially pranks. They dream big and make risks. Gnomes often have multiple names but often settle it down to three being personal, clan, and nickname. Deep gnomes face oppression and often have dulled feelings about their world. Gnomes might become an adventurer to see the world they love or even see it as a get rich quick scheme. # Traits (Stats) - **Ability Score Increase.** Intelligence score increases by 2. - **Age.** Gnomes mature at same rate as humans, most settle down into adult life around 40. They live anywhere between 350 to almost 500 years. - **Alignment.** Most gnomes are good with different stances often supporting different careers. - **Size.** Varies widely but regardless is Small. - **Speed.** Base walking speed is 25 feet. - **Darkvision.** You can see in dim light within 60 feet and in darkness as if it was dim. It is grayscale in darkness. - **Gnome Cunning.** You have advantage on Intelligence, Wisdom, and Charisma Saving Throws against magic. - **Languages.** You know Common & Gnomish. - **Subrace.** you choose a subrace and gain the stats. ## Subraces #### Forest Gnome *Illusionary, Friendly.* - **Ability Score Increase.** Dexterity score increases by 1. - **Natural Illusionist.** You know *Minor Illusion* cantrip. Intelligence is spellcasting ability. - **Speak with Small Beasts.** Using sound and gestures, you can communicate with small or smaller beasts. #### Rock Gnome *Inventive, Hardy.* - **Ability Score Increase.** Constitution score increases by 1. - **Artificer’s Lore.** Whenever making an Intelligence (History) check in relation to magic items, alchemical objects, or technological devices, You can double your proficiency bonus. - **Tinker.** You have proficiency with artisan’s tools (tinker’s tools.) Using these tools and spending 1 hour & 10 gp worth of materials let you construct a device below (AC 5, 1 HP.) The device only functions for 24 hours unless 1 hour spent repairing. You can reclaim the materials used to create it. You can have up to 3 devices active at a time. - *Clockwork Toy.* A toy-sized clockwork animal, monster, or person. When placed on ground it moves 5 feet across the ground on each turn in random direction, making noises appropriate to creature. - *Fire Starter.* Device producing a miniature flame, which can light a candle, torch, or campfire. Using the device requires your action. - *Music Box.* When opened, it plays a single song at moderate volume. It stops playing when closed or song’s end. # Attributes (RP) - **Weight.** Average of about 40 pounds. - **Height.** Between 3 and 4 feet tall. - **Age.** Age at same rate as humans.
